Welcome to Round Rock

Fast-growing city with small-town charm and excellent shopping

Round Rock is an eclectic city with small-town charm located about 20 miles north of Downtown Austin in Williamson County. Round Rock is one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States and has been ranked by Money Magazine and Niche.com among the 10 best places to live nationwide. Round Rock’s appeal stems from an excellent school district, gorgeous Texas Hill Country scenery, a plethora of shopping and restaurants, abundant outdoor recreation, and a thriving economy with local businesses, including the global headquarters of Dell Technology. Round Rock’s real estate mostly consists of spacious contemporary single-family homes in a variety of beautifully designed styles. Modern mixed-use developments such as La Frontera offer stylish apartments and condominiums with easy access to retail and restaurants.

Round Rock has over a dozen shopping centers with a vast array of places to shop, drink, and dine. La Frontera Village is one of the largest, housing over 75 restaurants and retailers. La Frontera is one of three large shopping centers located at the intersection of State Route 45 and Interstate 35.

Across the highway, Round Rock Crossing’s businesses include clothing stores, big-box retailers, and international restaurants such as Sushi Nini, Jason’s Deli, and Inchin’s Bamboo Garden. Heading north on I-65, Round Rock Plaza has more shops and services, plus a Cinemark 8 movie theater.

On either side of the intersection of I-65 and University Boulevard, University Oaks Shopping Center has an IKEA, Ross Dress for Less, and JCPenney, while Round Rock Premium Outlets has 125 stores offering big discounts on well-known brands and a Cinemark 14 movie theater.

Round Rock has an abundance of parks and open space. Old Settlers Park spans 650 acres and includes a variety of sports facilities, including two lighted football fields, five softball fields, seven soccer fields, and 20 baseball fields. Other amenities include a fishing lake, a playground with a Gravity Rail, and other thrilling kid-friendly activities. Old Settlers Park is also the location of Rock N’ River Water Park, a sprawling water park with a lazy river, leisure lagoon, crazy slides, large sprayground play area, and a rock-climbing wall with a waterfall.

Chisholm Trail Crossing Park is a scenic spot on the banks of Brushy Creek with picnic areas and bronze sculptures commemorating the cattle drives that were made across the creek in the 19th century. More sports facilities can be found at Clay Madsen Recreation Center, which has a 25-yard lap pool, two gymnasiums, four racquetball courts, several fitness rooms, and a skate park.

The Round Rock Independent School District is ranked one of the best in Texas.
